Don’t just book it…

I like lists. Not quite at my mother-in-law’s level (she has a master list to organise all her other lists) but I will happily jot them down on my phone, in notebooks, on the fridge. So it was only a matter of time before I started making at least a mental list of ways to travel with kids.

As if by magic – or convenient timing at least – Tommy’s had its annual Let’s Get Baby Friendly Awards, with a record 205,799 votes cast in various categories. Being baby-friendly is definitely not something to take lightly…

As Tommy’s Chief Executive Jane Brewin pointed out, ‘Being a parent isn’t always easy, so the efforts made by organisations who really strive to take parents’ needs into account go a long way to making life easier.’

This year, top marks went to Thomas Cook for Best Overseas holiday provider, with most of the other big operators (First Choice, Keycamp, Mark Warner, Thomson and Virgin Holidays) nominated.

Meanwhile, Center Parcs won Best UK holiday provider. Again, the big names were there – Butlins, Haven, Hoseasons and Pontins, but joined by Baby Friendly Boltholes which has rocketed to the top of my ‘really must investigate more’ list.
