Teddy’s Tea Time – afternoon tea for kids

I’ve had the teddy bear’s picnic song going round in my head since I heard this news (probably good practice for endless renditions of the wheels on the bus) – a London hotel is launching a special children’s afternoon tea.

The Montcalm, in Mayfair, has always done a few interesting variations on the usual cucumber sandwiches and scones (I’ve tried their chocolate indulgence version – mmm) but there aren’t anywhere near as many places which do a kids’ version of afternoon tea as the grown-up option.

The team will include chocolate-dipped fresh fruit, ice-cream, pastries and cakes from a Teddy’s Tea Time menu, along with an iced fruit cordial rather than a cuppa – all from £12.50. Children also get a complimentary Montcalm teddy bear to take home.

The only thought – the kids in this picture look a lot better behaved than I suspect mine might be after a sugar rush…

Book by calling the Montcalm Hotel on 020 7958 3216 or

  1. Hopefully off to review this soon with the kiddles in tow – can’t wait!

    • Enjoy – and let me know if my sugar rush fears are well-founded…
